FIRST WORDS
To say our inaugural issue of SI India E-newsletter last month, i.e. Jan 2021, has been a big draw from its takers – the movers and makers of Indian AV – is an understatement. It gave us so much energy that we are pumped up to work more assiduously to up the value quotient as we move forward. It’s been a pleasant take for ourselves that the very second release would dish out so much variety.
Two mega initiatives involving three corporate giants and a proactive government with great intent; two initiatives from the AV industry’s apex body – one for building momentum towards the much anticipated ‘hybrid’ event of InfoComm India 2021, and the other for imparting ‘essentials of AV’ to aspiring professionals helping their concerted journey towards Certified accolades; double this number in new product launches, including a seemingly revolutionary product; a very topical interview; and yet again an incredible installation story!
A sumptuous platter for any Indian AVian!
It’s an indication of how much is on offer, and how much more to explore! This, on our just step no.2! I’m too tempted to imagine what our step no. 3 awaits us with.
Will give you a small hint of it. A thing that most AVians wanted to see happen. A truly Make-in-India story for AV. Rest, I would love to keep the excitement alive till it unfolds in full next month.
Ram Bhavanashi, Editor, India and Middle East

![]() VIDEO OF THE MONTH InfoComm India’s 2020 edition of InfoComm India went virtual in October last and was a new experience for Indian ProAV industry. While it was exciting for most, wanting for more, it was sort of new and unconventional for others, wanting for more familiarization. A majority of the participants, therefore, wanted a ‘hybrid’ event for the ensuing events combining both physical exhibition giving the in-person experience, and the virtual exhibition facilitating those who cannot travel the event place. Evidently, InfoCommAsia Pte Ltd, the promoter of the event, announced that the 2021 edition would be a hybrid one. As a measure of building momentum towards the hybrid event in September this year, InfoCommAsia has planned a series of three one-day virtual events set for 25 Feb, 29 April and 1 July targeted at the Indian market. Considering the industry expectations, SI Asia caught up with Richard Tan, Executive Director of InfoCommAsia, to present a glimpse into what these one-day GoVirtual events are all about, and how it intends to rally the industry behind the cause. Hear it here, from the man behind the mission.
