For a strange reason, the post-Pandemic implications have been too good for Indian AV, or so it appears. There have been some incredibly proactive initiatives both from the government and industry segments for finding and nurturing brilliant brains towards developing a new breed of technology generation, if not techno-entrepreneurs. While we have heard an increased number of stories of the kind, we had one last time, and one this time. We will hear more of such competencies as we seek our tryst with 2023 and beyond.

Team Transcendence, comprising four young Indian Institute of Management-Bengaluru, has ‘edged’ past all the contestants of the recently concluded Samsung EDGE progamme, winning the coveted first prize. The ambitiously conceived seventh edition of the Samsung E.D.G.E. pan-India campus programme, had over 9,000 students coming from as many as 27 top institutions from across the country in pursuit of the prestigious laurel.

A sort of a ‘great’ news for Indian AV industry, as well those aspiring to become part of it. Two reputed OEMs from Indian AV have been recognized as ‘Great Place to Work.’ The two proud enterprises getting the prideful accolade are visual solutions and collaboration solutions major Barco, and integrated AV control solutions leader Q-SYS. Interestingly, Barco’s getting the laurel is third in the last five years.

Projection solutions major Optoma recently launched six new laser projectors in India for educational and commercial purposes. The newly launched models – the ZX350e, ZW350e, ZH350, AZX360ST, AZW360ST, and AZH360ST – designed with eco-friendliness as one of the main objectives, are mercury-free and energy-saving, which means they have a lower carbon footprint.Those energy savings obviously also translate into cost savings over time, with the company claiming that projector-equipped schools can save over 5 lakh rupees over a period of 5 years.
